The American Association of Orthodontics recommends that children are first seen by an orthodontist at the age of seven. Younger siblings (under the age of seven) may occasionally accompany their big brother/sister to the office and are curious about orthodontics.
At Lucas Orthodontics, we offer the Pre-Orthodontic Treatment Program (POP), where the younger children can get involved and educated about their teeth and how to care for them.
Each of these children gets a special POP t-shirt and a special gift on their birthday until they are ready for their first orthodontic exam at age seven.
